Temperatures…Norway Vs Elsewhere

Thank goodness it’s getting a little warmer.  Over the last week or so we’ve experienced a Norwegian winter heat wave with temperatures reaching zero degrees!  But the longer we experience the Norwegian winter, I’m noticing some rather odd things…

The other day we saw the ice cream man on his rounds.  I’m not sure who was craziest – him thinking he could sell ice cream in the snow or the queue of Norwegians lining up to buy it…it was minus 10 degrees!  At the weekend we saw some people BBQing.  They had carefully dug out a little well in the snow, set up the “engangs grill”  or BBQ, and they were cooking sausages…in the snow.  Apparently this is quite the normal thing to do at the weekends.

It seems that I’m not the only one to have noticed these little habits.  A fellow blogger living in Norway has put together a quick guide to temperatures – Norway versus everywhere else in the world.  Thanks for sending, Cath!  Absolutely brilliant.
